The Anger of the Earth and Sea

This is a large oil on canvas done with a palette knife. I recall when I painted this I was frustrated with the first colors that met the canvas and walked away from the easel. When I returned the next day, my frustration grew into anger and the internal turbulence I felt was rapidly transferred onto the canvas. The play of colors, earth and sea tones leave much to the imagination. [oil on canvas painted in 1974]
